The Christmas rush has meant we have sold out, but there's some good news if you read on.

It’s beginning to feel a lot like Christmas. Well, it should do. It’s bloody freezing.

At Slacklinz Towers we have seen a rapid increase in the number of slackline purchases, which means only one thing. It means that people are starting to take slacklining seriously and it may well be under your tree on the big day.

Okay, well it means two things.

The other thing it means is that all the stock that we bought for Christmas has been sold! Seriously.

But there is some Christmas cheer to be had, and that is we have stock available on Amazon still. And, to make things even better, we have reduced the price to LOWER than the price on this website. Well, it is Christmas.

We have received some questions around the benefits of our products and as the market starts to see some new brands appearing, why should you choose Slacklinz?

We have received some questions around the benefits of our products and as the market starts to see some new brands appearing, why should you choose Slacklinz?

What we are most proud about is that the design, development and even the production of our slackline is all from the UK. We don’t use a company in China to produce cheap, dodgy versions.

Because they are made in the UK they also have to conform to EU standards, meaning that you are getting the real deal straight away.

Our lines come with a four tonne breaking strain, which is more than some competitors. The UK have very strict safety standards and build in a massive “safety cushion”. This means that in reality a 4t certified breaking strain roughly means that the line will take 8t before it breaks.

For “2t breaking strain” lines that are made in other parts of the world, 2t may well be the maximum! The exact science for working out the load that you put on the line is a) very complicated and b) has many variables, such as; tension of the line, anchor points, walking or jumping on the line and weight of the person on the line.

Roughly speaking a 15 stone adult can easily exert over 1t of pressure on a line. Still feel confident using a line that may have a 2t total breaking strain?

We are also a reputable and fully insured company and our slackline have been created by slackliners who have done it for the love of the activity. We don’t hide behind a website either and you’ll find us showcasing our lines are various events around the UK.

Lastly and also very key, is that we have a great customer support policy as well as provide tips and advice to slackliners, whether you have one of our products or not.

A young woman walks a slackline between two Volvo trucks driving at full speed: not even in Hollywood has this stunt ever been attempted

A young woman walks a slackline between two Volvo trucks driving at full speed: not even in Hollywood has this stunt ever been attempted. Now the film about the stunt is a massive success on YouTube and within nine days, more than 3.8 million people have seen the film.

The woman on the line is American slackliner Faith Dickey. She is the world record-holder in highlining, a young sport which is all about walking on a line as high and far as possible.

“I’m used to heights, long lines and lines that sway in the wind, but those lines are firmly anchored to cliff-faces. Walking a line attached to two moving points is something quite different,” says Faith.

When the Hollywood team behind the film first heard the idea they were dumbstruck.

“And here was I thinking that every imaginable stunt had already been done. The fact is that nobody has ever before walked a line between two moving trucks. It felt like an enormous challenge, and it’s challenges that get me going,” says Peter Pedrero, who normally works with stunts in films such as James Bond, Harry Potter and Pirates of the Caribbean.

In any case, it’s a great bit of PR for Volvo.

Well, after much rain, rain and then some more rain it would appear that the end of July will officially be summer!!

If you are looking for the perfect summer activity then slacklining is certainly it! You will not be able to set up a line without other people coming and asking you what it’s all about and wanting a go!

Obviously slacklining is great for your fitness too as it works all of the core muscles that are responsible for ensuring posture and strong core muscles help to stop any back problems before they start!

We suggest our 15m line as a basic starting point, they are manufactured IN THE UK exclusively for us to european safety standards.

If you have any questions, then please drop us a line.

We are only a few days away from one of the best events on the south coast. 7th & 8th July are reserved for Paddle Round The Pier and we are opening it up for you to join us.

If you were there last year you witnessed a blisteringly hot weekend and thousands of people trying out our slacklines. We loved it, you loved it. Everyone loved it.

As said by the Brighton legend and PRTP frequenter, Normal Cook, we are ‘back once again like a renagade master.’ There is no way we would miss it and we would like to open our arms once again to ask if you would like to join us.

Have you got some skills? Come down and join the Slacklinz team as they demo slacklining to the crowds. Make the crowds go wild.

This weekend. Hove Lawns. Paddle Round The Pier. Done.

What starts off as a simple slackline across a pool turns into a nightmare. Saying that, we wouldn’t suggest putting the line over a chair, so on the face of it, it was probably going to go come crashing down fast. Actually……er……

The American slackline legend that is Dean Potter, has just crossed the China Canyon at a height of 1,800m – without a harness

Taking just over two minutes to complete, Dean listened to music in his headphones while making the crossing. The amazing footage is currently being shown on the BBC website but we don’t know for hom much longer.

“He has crossed the Enshi Grand Canyon in China’s Hubei Province on a slackline just two centimetres thick”, according to the BBC report.

The 40-year-old daredeveil from New Hampshire, United States, is also a world reknowned rock climber and BASE jumper.

We have often said that once you have a go on a slackline, you’re hooked. We have now found proof that this holds true for Madonna!

After the success of her show during the Superbowl she wants to use the slackline for her world tour that kicks off in May and lasts the whole of 2012. Reports suggest that she approached Andy Lewis (who appeared with her in the show) to see if he would like to travel.

We understand that Andy actually turned this down. “You can’t put a price on the slacklife” he said, which will endear himselve even more to the slackline community.

This means that Madonna herself might be practicing to use it herself in the show. We’ll know more during rehersals and the first show at Tel Aviv.
